COPE 378 represents the support staff at the BC Ferry and Marine Workers’ Union. The BC Ferry and Marine Workers’ Union was founded in January 1977. The BCFMWU now represents over 4,500 working men and women from Vancouver to Prince George.

    Table officers and staff of COPE 378 joined politicians and activists from other unions at the Vancouver Art Gallery this morning to observe the Day of Mourning for workers killed on the job. April 28th marks the date when the labour movement, the affected families and our supporters join together to remember and honour these lost lives.

    Dear Members, April 28 is the annual Day of Mourning for Workers Killed or Injured on the job. Workers and employers across the world mark this occasion together at 11 AM on the day, either with a moment of silence in the workplace, wearing a black armband or memorial pin, or attending one of the many ceremonies being held in communities across Canada.
