Table officers and staff of COPE 378 joined politicians and activists from other unions at the Vancouver Art Gallery this morning to observe the Day of Mourning for workers killed on the job. April 28th marks the date when the labour movement, the affected families and our supporters join together to remember and honour these lost lives.

April 28 is the annual Day of Mourning for Workers Killed or Injured on the job.
Workers and employers across the world mark this occasion together at 11 AM on the day, either with a moment of silence in the workplace, wearing a black armband or memorial pin, or attending one of the many ceremonies being held in communities across Canada.

COPE 378 members employed at Hertz Rental Cars cast their ballots today unanimously in favour of strike action. Hertz is seeking a round of concessions at the bargaining table which would decrease job security and offload work-related costs onto their employees.
