Upcoming Meetings Being Planned
COPE Local 378 welcomes you as new members to the bargaining unit at BC Transit. Our union is proud of the exceptional service our transit members provide to their employers and customers, and having you as part of our team only enhances our services. I wanted you to know that your union will take whatever steps necessary to protect the integrity of the services you provide to assure that you are fairly and properly compensated for the valuable work you perform.
President David Black and myself had planned to visit with you last Friday during a trip to Victoria but regretfully we were unable to visit with you due to circumstances beyond our immediate control. It is my intention to meet with you in the very near future. In the meantime, your union representatives, Brother Kevin Payne and Sister Teresa Davie are in process of making arrangements to meet with you as soon as possible. We will let you know as soon as a date and venue is confirmed.
I look forward to meeting with you. Your feedback is extremely important as we prepare to engage other members in conversation about the importance of maintaining wage integrity and, of equal importance, expansion of the bargaining unit to include potential members that deserve union protection. If you have any urgent questions or concerns, please make sure to contact either me at hlee@cope378.ca, or Brother Payne at kpayne@cope378.ca.
In unity,
Heather Lee
Vice-President, Combined Units
