Important Survey: Tell Us What You Want From COPE-BC Hydro Bargaining
Your union needs you to fill out this important survey with your bargaining priorities. Bargaining will start soon and your feedback and support for the bargaining committee will be crucial. Our current contract expires March 31, 2012. The purpose of this survey is to get your input for bargaining our next collective agreement. This agreement will be important as BC Hydro will be seeking concessions to the agreement. The Government has also suggested the upcoming mandate for wages will be 0% for three years. In addition to identifying which issues are most important to you, we are also looking for you to identify if you are prepared to support labour action to maintain and/or advance your collective agreement.
The survey is available on our web page, click here for the on-line version or, click here for the printable version. The survey has also been sent to your home e-mails (if we have your home email on file – if not please update your information here) as well as all job stewards’ and distributors’ e-mails.
Please complete the survey on the web page or return it to the office by e-mail (bchbargaining@cope378.ca), fax (604-299-8211) or by OCS to our office no later than 4:30 pm, Monday, February 6, 2012.
The provincial government and BC Hydro have been treating our members as scapegoats for their own mismanagement. They are coming to the table asking us to give up more while they make no effort to address the real BC Hydro cost-drivers. It’s time to ask ourselves when do we say enough is enough?
It’s important that all members complete and return the survey as this is vital information for your bargaining committee. Please ask your co-workers if they have completed and returned their surveys - if they have not please encourage them to do so.
We thank you for your support!
Your Bargaining Committee,
Bojan Bucic
Andrea Foster
Calvin Jonas
Rysa Kronebusch
Sharon Thomas
Gwenne Farrell, Vice President
Brad Bastien, Senior Union Representative
