Earthquake in Haiti

Thursday, January 14, 2010
To: All COPE 378 Members:

The earthquake in Haiti has created a humanitarian crisis.

We would like to encourage members to consider donating to help aid the massive humanitarian effort now underway in Haiti. Any donation, no matter how small, can make a huge difference.

The Government of Canada has pledged to match Canadians’ donations up to $50 million.

There are many aid organizations that are able to direct aid to relief efforts in Haiti. If you are considering donating to help with disaster relief an organization, we suggest you consider donating to is the Humanitarian Coalition at http://www.thehumanitariancoalition.ca/

This Coalition of Canadian charities includes of up CARE Canada, Oxfam, and Save the Children. These three respected organizations have cooperated to reduce duplication and administration so that more of your donation dollar goes directly to help with the disaster. Donations to the Humanitarian Coalition are tax deductible.

Please consider making a donation to the Humanitarian Coalition, or another organization, to help with disaster relief in Haiti.

Yours,

Andy Ross
President
